PERFORMANCE WITH kantelePalu's main instrument is a 38-stringed concert kantele, a modern version of an ancient Finnish folk instrument that has existed for a few thousand years. Alongside the 38-stringed kantele, Palu performs with a 14-stringed Korpiselän kantele and other types of smaller kanteles.

ComposingPalu composes for diverse ensembles and multidisciplinary projects including films, installations, dance and theatre. She also creates music for meditation and therapeutic uses.
